I'm Laptopless
I don't know how I will possibly get through these next few days. My precious Dell Inspiron 8100 has not been feeling well and has been shipped off to Dell for treatment. We think we've narrowed the problem down to the LCD inverter. I'm hoping they won't have to amputate.
So, here I am. Upstairs in my home office sitting at an actual desk with my trusty old Gateway G6-350. The 21 inch monitor is killer, but I miss being curled up on the couch with the laptop. I travel a whole lot for work, so the laptop goes with me everywhere. Guess I will just have to make due with the iPAQ while on the road. I'm going to give Pocket Blog a try so that I can work on the site from my iPAQ.
I wonder how it's doing. It's never been this far away from home before. Does it miss me? Will the Dell technicians think oddly of me if I call to say hello?
UPDATE (4/26): It's home! Wow that was fast. Sent it off on Wednesday night and it was back in my hands (or on my lap), by Friday morning. Very impressive turn-a-round time. According to the note in the box, the LCD was replaced and the video card re-seated. So far it seems to be working like a champ.
