Special Announcement - Blogathon 2002
I will be participating in Blogathon 2002! What is that, you ask? On July 27th from 6am PST (that's 9am for me), for 24 hours, I will post a new entry to the site every 30 minutes. I've selected the American Cancer Society as the charity that I will be blogging for. To spice it up a bit, I will be posting a new Pocket PC theme every hour on the hour. No, I will not have them made up in advance. I will be making and posting themes for 24 hours straight!! I plan to install a web cam and a chat room for the event as well.
Here's where I need your help. I need sponsors!! It's very easy. Just click here or on the sidebar graphic to sponsor Web McDeb. You can pledge a set amount, or an amount per hour. You send no money now. Once the big event is over, you will be contacted by the Blogathon with instructions to send in your pledged donation to the American Cancer Society.
A good friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas. His condition is inoperable and not curable. I've been struggling with this helpless feeling ever since. It seemed that there was nothing I could do to help him. Now I'm excited because I have found something that I can do. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Webmasters: Spread the word!! Please copy this graphic and point your users to http://www.blogathon.org/sponsor.php?part=1121.
Thank you everyone. Be sure to stop by on July 27th. I'll be needing your help to stay awake.
Very cool idea! Count me in!
Wonderful idea. Better start thinking up those theme ideas. Looks like we are going to his the mother-load!!
Good stuff! Go for it Boop. I will try to help keep you awake...did you say 24 hours?? oh boy! I could sing to you like I did when you were a baby, or I could make up funny stories for you. I could record myself sleeping and that would be enough to keep anyone awake.
Kidding aside it is a very worthy cause and I am proud of you for taking a stand to do something positive. You go girl!
Thanks everyone. Oh...and Mom, if you can't behave in here, I will have to ban your IP.
Hi Deb I think this is great. I know I couldn't do so I would be glad to help you. I will be at your Mom then so I can help her keep you awake.
had a friend just walk for the breast cancer research. I was impressed with her too.
Posted!
I wish you best of luck, and tastiest of coffee! Hey, if you get bored, how 'bout a compu2go theme, huh, huh? (grin)

Way to go girl.
I'm going to pledge and donate $25.00 to the american cancer society and want to do so in the name of Ovenia Ragin. She was a lovely woman with whom i used to work, who recently was killed, at age 45, from a freak accident, in her home. She was a beautiful person with a wheelchair bound child who never cried the blues and tho i hadn't seen her in years, i have always fondly remembered her and was saddened by her death. She had just recently completed a 3 day walkathon for Breast Cancer Awareness and therefore i find this as a way to say, G-d bless you, Ovenia, and help your cause, also!!!

Thank you!!
Ummm, what's a "blog" ??
Posted by: lee at July 25, 2002 12:03 PMA blog is a "web log" or online journal of sorts. Very popular these days. This site is set up as a blog. The home page lists entries according to date. Blogging software called Moveable Type is installed on my server and controlls the database as well as making my life a whole lot easier.
