The possessed Dell ad

Question for the masses. Maybe you can help me troubleshoot this issue. Do you see the large Dell Pocket PC ad on the sidebar here on the homepage? This is truly strange. The image appears and is functional while viewing it on my laptop, but not viewable or operational from my desktop machine. Same for a few others who have tested it. Now, this makes no sense whatsoever. Both computers have the same OS (WinXP) and the same build of IE6. Settings are also the same. I have the same issue when using the Opera browser. Kind of ironic that it is viewable from a Dell laptop, but not a Gateway desktop. wink

I know it sucks that you have to put up with the presence of ads, let alone help me solve their quirkiness. But someone has to pay the bills around here, and the ads help a little (very very little). I do try to make sure that they feature items that you would like. And you will NEVER EVER EVER see a pop-up ad. I hate those things with a passion. mad

So, do you see the possessed Dell ad? Do tell. Thanks!

UPDATE: The culprit ad has been removed until I figure out the issue. It was driving me bats! There is still one with the same problem in the rotation on the top banner. Now I'm on a mission to solve this mystery. grin

I can see the Dell add with my Dell laptop running XP. However, I can't see Zonkboard. Also, I tried to post a response to your message earlier, and it didn't show up. smile

I'm on a Dell desktop and I can't see the ad.

Hi Elaine. Must have been a lag with the server. Your comment did post twice (I'll delete one of them). The Zonkboard is hosted on another server and it appears to be down for now. Thanks for letting me know you can see the ad. So far, those with Dell laptops can see it. This just keeps getting weirder.

I see the ad fine on both my Toshiba laptop and my Compaq desktop. For me Zonk is also down.

Hey guys, I was only kidding about it being related to the "brand" of computer. Just thought it strange to only see a Dell ad on a Dell computer.

Anyway...I'm still perplexed. Some can see it, and some can't.

I see the dell ad from a desktop PC running Windows XP Home Edition and IE 6. I have a new Axim X5 and its wonderful. Waiting for a new Bluetooth Compact Flash Card and then I'll really be happy.
Great site by the way.

I see the ad just fine on my Dee desktop (running Windows ME).

I can see it just fine. I do not mind about the ads, but agree about the pop-ups. Thanks for not having those.

Well, thanks for all the feedback. I'm still having the same issue. Can view a functional link from my laptop, but not from my desktop computer. I have the same issue with other sites who are running the same ad. Weird. Still no response from the folks at LinkShare. If I don't hear something soon, I will just delete it.
