Top Thrill Dragster

In order to psych myself up for next month's trip to Cedar Point, here's a theme featuring the world's tallest fastest roller coaster. The Top Thrill Dragster opened this season at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. (click previous link for pictures) Now, don't get me wrong, I love coasters. But at what point have we gone too far? Just the online description is making me nervous!
"It launches forward, reaching speeds of 120 mph in approximately four seconds. The train then zooms straight up the 420-foot-tall hill on track that rotates 90 degrees, crests the coaster's apex and then free-falls back to Earth, reaching a speed of 120 mph for the second time. As the train races more than 400 feet to the ground, the track twists an unbelievable 270 degrees."
I may be scared silly, but I can't wait to get on this thing!

Debbie - This is so nostalgic. My childhood included a trip to Cedar Point ever summer....my grandfather was raised in Sandusky and my great uncle sat on the board of directors. Our last visit was four years ago and my 60+ year old mother (a Springfield native) kept pace with the youngest of coaster fans. We cannot wait until our son is tall enough for the big rides...he's already shown the family zeal for coasters.

Posted by: Greg at August 18, 2003 1:12 PMi have ridden this coaster 3 times and each time i was scared out of my mind it was way faster than any other coaster i have visited before while everyones at cedar point also check out the magnum xl 200 which is 200 ft,wicked twister 215ft,milennium force 309 FT ,and of course ttd 120 in less than 4 secounds and its 420 ft hill
