Newest Toy: 250 GB of Luxurious Storage!
I'm in storage heaven. Graphics and music take up a lot of space on a hard drive, and I have LOTS of graphics and music. Not to mention the fact that frequent back-ups to DVD were becoming a time consuming hassle. Enter the Maxtor A01A250 OneTouch 7200 RPM 250 GB External Hard Drive. I will never run out of space again! I hope. This baby is pretty too. Brushed steel-looking case, bright blue light, and comes with a stand to position the drive on it's end to save space on the desk. It's super quiet and very fast. Connects via USB 2.0 or Firewire.
I love the "one touch" feature. By pressing the bright blue button on the drive, I'm instantly backing up via Dantz Retrospect (included). It's quick and easy.
Installation was a breeze. Well, once I corrected my own stupid mistake. I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but here goes: I purchased my Dell Dimension desktop a little over a year ago. It has 4 USB ports and I'm also using a hub. Like a dummy, I just assumed that my ports were not USB 2.0, but standard ports. So, I bought a 4 port USB 2.0 PCI card and installed it in my machine. Turns out I didn't need it after all. My built in ports are all 2.0. Duh! Live and learn, and never assume.
Off to iTunes to get more music.
