Some GOOD News

Those of you who have been around here a while will remember the ordeal that my family went through this time last year. I'm referring to my Mother's serious illness. It was one year ago today that my Mother (McMom) was in critical condition and not expected to make it through the night. It was one year ago today, that my family held a constant vigil at her bedside, and we were in a terrified state that lasted for several months, and then it happened all over again in the spring. Well, it's time for another McMom update. And this time, it's good news. If you're interested, please take a look at THIS ARTICLE that was published last week in the Ashland Times Gazette (Mom's home town newspaper). Link is an adobe .pdf file.

Not only has Mom survived two lengthy stays in Critical Care and on life support, but she's come back with strength and purpose. As you will read in the article, Mom is back to work feeding needy families here in Ohio. I'm so proud of everything she and my step-father have done to help so many people. Even though she still requires supplemental oxygen and in her words walks "with lead feet", she's out there doing her best. I'm amazed at her determination, and so thankful to have my Mom/best friend still with me.

You'll notice in the article that Mom's non-profit organization is looking for the use of a tractor-trailer to assist in picking up food for the program from the Indiana/Michigan border. If you should happen to know of anyone who might be willing to donate their time and truck for this purpose, please let me know.

Last year at this time, many of you offered your kind words, thoughts and prayers for my Mother. I'll never forget, and I'm still so thankful. This year will be our best Christmas ever!

It doesn't seem like a year (probably much longer to you!) The power of family and prayer is amazing, it's what got me through the most difficult period of my life...with a little help from my friends. God Bless you and your family this season. Tell your mom that she's a blessing to many and an inspiration.
