Done. Thank You Everyone!

Well, we did it! 24 hours, 24 themes, 100,00 page views, and over $1,000 for the American Cancer Society. Thank you sponsors, fellow webmasters, visitors, family and friends. It's been a fun ride. All of these themes will be uploaded soon to:

PocketThemes
PocketPC Themes
PocketNow
Pocket PC For You.com

These past 24 hours are dedicated to my good friend Steve Young. I admire your positive attitude and your incredible courage. I'll be in touch.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming. Well, after a few hours sleep. smile

If I Ever...

If I EVER see another Pocket PC Theme again, I think I'm gonna... Nah, just kiddin'. I'm saving all of the theme requests that did not fit into the schedule, and I will get to them soon. I'm already dreaming up stuff for next week. Once a graphics junkie, always a graphics junkie. But, a couple of days off would be nice. grin

Still Time To Sponsor!

We are down to the final few hours, but there is still time to sponsor. So far you have pledged $1,045 dollars during our little posting marathon for the American Cancer Society. That is really terrific! The Pocket PC community has really come through. If you peruse the participants list on the main Blogathon 2002 site, you should notice that Web McDeb is pretty high up there when it comes to donations. I am thrilled (but very very sleepy).

If you are enjoying these themes, please CLICK HERE to sponsor. Don't forget to vote for me in the Blogathon awards! Thanks.

Getting Tired Now

If it were not for the fact that I've been constantly making themes, this posting stuff every 30 minutes would not be too difficult. But now my eyes are starting to cross, my back, neck and shoulders are in knots, and I can't seem to type 3 words without screwing it up. But, ya know what? I'm still having fun. Back to work...

It's 11:30. Do you know where your children are?

I remember that the my local television station growing up in Buffalo NY, used to say that every night. Actually, I think they said it at 11:00. "It's eleven o'clock, do you know where your children are?" Why don't they do that anymore? I guess 5 second public service-type announcements take a back seat to advertising these days. Now, I doubt that anyone who misplaced their children, suddenly noticed because of it, but it was nice to hear.

What the heck made me think of that?

If you are one of my Blogathon sponsors, please go HERE to nominate Web McDeb for one of the Blogathon awards. There are a lot of categories there, but maybe "best themed blog" or "best visual arts blog" would be appropriate. Don't know what the prize is. I just hope it isn't a web cam! wink Oh, how I would like to shut that thing off and take a nap. grin

Stone is Jack Handy

Stone was hanging out in the chat room earlier quoting Jack Handy. Remember these from SNL?

When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil. -Jack Handy

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man. -Jack Handy

He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late. -Jack Handy

When you go in for a job interview, I think a good thing to ask is if they ever press charges. -Jack Handy

If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did." -Jack Handy

This is wild. My site stats are through the roof today. Lot's of folks visiting. Great. Now remember this is for charity...so please SPONSOR ME in the Blogathon. Don't make me come over there and smack ya! wink

McDan (the husband) is hanging out in the chat room while at work tonight. He probably won't have a lot of time to chime in, but we will hear from him now and then.

This is really fun, but a lot harder that I thought it would be. I'm not used to fighting the clock when designing themes. Creativity and deadlines just don't mix I guess. Gotta run...lot's more to make! grin

My Dog Is Camera Shy

I've been trying to get Murphy in to camera view. But he's being shy today. Well, he's also lazy. Getting a 115 pound dog to get up and do something when he does not want to, is no easy task. He's even wearing his red-white and blue bandana for the occasion. I'll see if I can snap a pic.

Speaking Of Trading Spaces...

I mentioned the TLC show "Trading Spaces" earlier. I just had a great idea for a variation of that show. Rather than decorating rooms in each others houses. What if the participants traded web sites? You re-design my web site, and I re-design yours. grin No...that would not be good. Hmmm.

Blogathon Update

Well, the Blogathon is just about a week away. I wanted to take a minute to thank all of the sponsors. I have raised about $300 dollars so far and that's a terrific start. But, I'd really love to see if we can DOUBLE that!! Please click HERE to sponsor Web McDeb in Blogathon 2002 for the American Cancer Society.

A very special thanks goes out to Austin and Stone at Pocket Themes. Not only have they sponsored me, but they are running my graphic on the site and will be hosting our chat room on the day of the big event. Thanks guys.

Also...a big thanks to Microsoft Mobile Devices Division, Pocket PC Thoughts, Pocket PC Passion, The Gadgeteer, PocketPC Themes, PocketPCHow2.com , Pocket PC Magazine, ipaqToday, and CompuWarezPlus for their support. These fine folks have either sponsored, written about the effort, or are running my graphic to help drum up donations. If I've missed anyone, please let me know. I won't list individual donors unless they wish to have their names made public.

The web cam is ready to go (yikes), images are being collected, requests are rolling in. It should be a fun day. Don't forget to stop by on the 27th!!

UPDATE: Forgot to mention this. The proceeds from all custom themes/skins orders from now until the 27th, will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Collecting Images and Ideas

The Blogathon is fast approaching. I'm in the process of collecting images and ideas. I'd like these 24 themes to be very nice quality stuff. If you have come across a nice image (royalty-free) that you would like to see used in one of these 24 themes, please send it to me for consideration. I'll also feature a good bit of original art as well.

The sponsors have been coming through!! I am so pleased with the amount of support from all over the Pocket PC community.

There is still time to sponsor me in the Blogathon.

Special Announcement - Blogathon 2002

I will be participating in Blogathon 2002! What is that, you ask? On July 27th from 6am PST (that's 9am for me), for 24 hours, I will post a new entry to the site every 30 minutes. I've selected the American Cancer Society as the charity that I will be blogging for. To spice it up a bit, I will be posting a new Pocket PC theme every hour on the hour. No, I will not have them made up in advance. I will be making and posting themes for 24 hours straight!! I plan to install a web cam and a chat room for the event as well.

Here's where I need your help. I need sponsors!! It's very easy. Just click here or on the sidebar graphic to sponsor Web McDeb. You can pledge a set amount, or an amount per hour. You send no money now. Once the big event is over, you will be contacted by the Blogathon with instructions to send in your pledged donation to the American Cancer Society.

A good friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas. His condition is inoperable and not curable. I've been struggling with this helpless feeling ever since. It seemed that there was nothing I could do to help him. Now I'm excited because I have found something that I can do. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Webmasters: Spread the word!! Please copy this graphic and point your users to http://www.blogathon.org/sponsor.php?part=1121.

Thank you everyone. Be sure to stop by on July 27th. I'll be needing your help to stay awake. smile
